LUNCH / SNACK
*****We have 2 snack times daily (am. and pm), with lunch time in between. Please remember to send both snacks, eating utensils if needed, and a drink with your child. Make sure that lunch is something that your child will likes to eat; this way there is nothing wasted because he/she doesn't like the smell, taste, etc. Also, PLEASE DO NOT SEND SODA, OR CANDY/CHOCOLATE AS A SNACK, it will be sent home in your child's backpack. Jazak Allahu Khairun in advance.
**** School ends at 3:15 pm; I am on duty until 3:30 pm. As much as I would love to talk to you during pick-up, I have to focus on the children. Chances are, with 20 children in PreK2, if you mention something to me during this time, I may forget it. If you have any questions about your child's day, or are picking your child up early the next day, please send an email to let me know. Also, if you have any questions about your child's academic progress, please email me. This way we can set up a time to meet and talk about your concerns. Jazak Allahu Khayrun in advance.*****

Please welcome Mrs. Mutiat Rosenje as she will serve as our new PTO President for the 2018-19 school year. She looks forward to working with the staff, teachers, students, and you, the parents. She has many exciting and creative new ways to raise funds for the school, as well as continuing our existing favorite fundraising traditions, and will use the funds we raise together to benefit the school throughout the year. We believe that the best way to enhance the educational experience for all of our students is to put our energy into supporting all these PTO activities/events.
We would also like to introduce the other dedicated parent volunteers that will be serving as new and returning PTO members this year.

SHOW AND TELL
Show and Tell is on Friday, in sha Allah. We are looking forward to seeing what your child wants to share with us on this day.
**WE HAVE 22 CHILDREN, so please bring only one toy to share with the class.** Thanks in advance.
CHANGE OF CLOTHING
Please provide an extra change of clothing for your child (top and bottom- weather appropriate, socks, underwear)... sometimes they may have accidents with a spill or other things... this also eliminates us calling you during the day to bring clothing items... jazakallahu khyran in advance.

STUDENT ILLNESSES AND ABSENCES:
If your child will not be in attendance due to illness or any other reason, please notify us by email as well as the office by 9AM. To report an absence, parents should either call the school at 309-691-9089 or send an email to email@example.com as soon as possible. Also, if your child will be late due to an early morning appointment, please bring a note from the doctor, so that the tardy may be excused.
Since the weather is constantly changing, please remember to keep your child at home if they have:
· Fever greater than or equal to 100.5 degrees Fahrenheit: Children must stay home 24 hours after fever subsides. They are not to be given fever-reducing medication and sent to school. Your child will expose other students to the sickness as well.
· Heavy drainage (clear or discolored) from the mouth, nose, eyes, or ears
· Red discoloration to the whites of the eye(s)
· Skin rashes of any kind which have not been diagnosed by a doctor
· Severe abdominal pain, vomiting, or diarrhea during the previous night.
· A painful, red throat, even if fever is not present.
· A deep, hacking cough
· If your child becomes sick during the day, the office staff will contact you to pick them up.
LEAVING SCHOOL EARLY
Parents are required to notify the teacher and the office if their children need to leave school early due to an appointment or any other reason. Advanced notification will allow the teacher time to prepare for your child’s departure from the class and reduce interruptions.
As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call or send an email; if emails are sent Friday after 3:30 pm, I will reply on Monday morning, in sha Allah.
