see you on Thursday, in sha Allah.
Ahamdulillah for our first full week of school ! ! ! ! !
We are having fun in PreK2; making new friends, learning new songs for the alphabet and counting to 100. We are also having fun in our classroom centers.
Jazak Allah Khair for those who were able to make it to the Parent Orientation; if you weren't able to, it's completely understandable. Please let me know if you would like to fill out a volunteer form to help out with the goings on in PreK2. Also, if you did not receive the newsletter in your email, please let me know, and it will be sent to you. Jazak Allahu Khairan in advance.
PRE-K2 EID PARTY
PreK2 will be having our classroom Eid Party on Friday, 24 August, in sha Allah. An Eid newsletter was sent home at Parent Orientation and on Friday. We are requesting that all parents please send $10 to cover the following expenses for the Eid Party on the 24th:
ADVENTURES IN PreK2
Check out our tab, Adventures in PreK2 (click on 'More...')
We will take alot of pictures during the week, and will do our best to upload new pics every week! ! !
PreK2 will have PE with Coach Hasan on Mondays and Wednesdays, in sha Allah. If your child will be wearing boots, dress shoes, etc., on these days, please provide a pair of gym shoes for them to participate in PE comfortably.
SHOW AND TELL
We will have our first Show and Tell on Friday, in sha Allah. We are looking forward to seeing what your child wants to share with us on this day.
**We have 21 children, so please bring only one toy to share with the class.** Thanks in advance.
CHANGE OF CLOTHING
Please provide an extra change of clothing for your child (top and bottom- weather appropriate, socks, underwear)... sometimes they may have accidents with a spill or other things... this also eliminates us calling you during the day to bring clothing items... jazakallahu khyran in advance.

STUDENT ILLNESSES AND ABSENCES:
If your child will not be in attendance due to illness or any other reason, please notify us by email as well as the office by 9AM. To report an absence, parents should either call the school at 309-691-9089 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible. Also, if your child will be late due to an early morning appointment, please bring a note from the doctor, so that the tardy may be excused.
Since the weather is constantly changing, please remember to keep your child at home if they have:
· Fever greater than or equal to 100.5 degrees Fahrenheit: Children must stay home 24 hours after fever subsides. They are not to be given fever-reducing medication and sent to school. Your child will expose other students to the sickness as well.
· Heavy drainage (clear or discolored) from the mouth, nose, eyes, or ears
· Red discoloration to the whites of the eye(s)
· Skin rashes of any kind which have not been diagnosed by a doctor
· Severe abdominal pain, vomiting, or diarrhea during the previous night.
· A painful, red throat, even if fever is not present.
· A deep, hacking cough
· If your child becomes sick during the day, the office staff will contact you to pick them up.
LEAVING SCHOOL EARLY
Parents are also required to notify the teacher and the office if their children need to leave school early due to an appointment or any other reason. Advanced notification will allow the teacher time to prepare for your child’s departure from the class and reduce interruptions.
As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call or send an email; if emails are sent Friday after 3:30 pm, I will reply on Monday morning, in sha Allah.
